At BlizzCon 2021, we’ve learned more about Diablo Immortal, Blizzard’s mobile entry in the iconic action RPG franchise. After a technical alpha that ended in January, we’ve got a clearer view of how the game’s shaping up – and by the developers’ own accounts, Diablo Immortal is a mobile MMO with tone and gameplay in line with the franchise but could have a few tricks all its own.

Crusader Kings 3 is experiencing a flurry of activity with a double update. First, there’s the free 1.3 patch, which adds some goodies to the political strategy game. Among the many announcements made at Paradox Interactive’s Insider event, they have unveiled a flavor pack for Crusader Kings III, called Northern Lords. This DLC is the first of many flavor packs planned to be added to the game over time. While not a full expansion’s worth of content, Northern Lords will still be adding much to the base game.

As mentioned, the Northern Lords Flavor Pack adds a bit more local color and personality for those lording over a Scandinavian realm. Paradox doesn’t do a particularly good job of indicating what the flavor pack adds within the game itself – I had to double-check Steam to make sure it was even installed. That said, once you pick a Norse leader and start a game, you’ll start to see fresh content pretty quickly.

The package adds more detail and depth for those hailing from Norse nations and cultures: religion, raiding, internal disputes, and more. It’s $7 on every platform that sells Crusader Kings III. If you own the expansion pack, it’s part of that content. Paradox says these flavor packs are bigger than what you’d expect form just a pure cosmetic update but smaller than a major expansion, and they focus on specific cultures and regions.

The meat-and-potatoes gameplay of Crusader Kings 3 hasn’t changed, and the great gameplay flow remains the game. The update does make running through multiple generations of a family more interesting thanks to newly balanced dynasty rewards. A player can now choose to become a Norse lord, where they can abandon their home to raid other regions and establish an adventurer kingdom. There are two Norse dynasty tracks, one for adventuring, one for pillaging.

Northern Lords is also releasing alongside the free 1.3 “Corvus” patch, named in honor of Odin’s Ravens. The patch will be adding winter weather, with snow building up in the northern parts of the world, adding new events and being a factor in battles. Rulers can engage in single combat duels with their rivals. Players can also make their rulers poets if they want, which is highly recommended as poetry is considered of great importance to the Norse. Some additional minor updates include multiple new coat of arms, religious symbols and music, all of which are Norse-themed.

While my enjoyed my time with these Northern Lords, I do question the DLC’s $5 price tag (it’s also included in the CK3’s $35 Expansion Pass, which includes two flavor packs and a larger expansion). Yes, this DLC offers plenty of Viking flavor and fun events, but not a lot of truly new, game-changing content. This just feels like it ought to be a free update or perhaps part of its own subscription (I’d pay $20 a year for a new flavor pack every couple months). Of course, value is always somewhat subjective — whether this voyage is worth the price is up to you.

This means for most players, completing all quests you get in your Sanctum, Oribos or from Ven’ari in the Maw take priority when you hit 60, as they’ll unlock content that you want to progress in.

Experience everything
As a new player, something that really is recommended is to read everything that’s given to you. Quest text, skill information, and the like. WoW’s story is rich and deep, and if you’re blasting through everything as quick as you can as a new player, things are bound to get confusing, and you won’t learn anything about the world.

City Tour
Once you complete the Exile’s Reach questline, you’ll be flown to either Orgrimmar (Horde) or Stormwind (Alliance). Shortly after arriving, an NPC will greet you and offer to give you a tour of the city, although most of the time, he’s following you and just marking places for you to go on the map. Blizzard’s World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade Classic beta is now officially underway

Blizzard Entertainment released World of Warcraft Classic in August 2019, giving fans of the long-running MMORPG the opportunity to relive its original iteration. While the gameplay is spectacular, the variety of modes and the drought of content is still what seems to be holding the game back. It simply lacks the bit of a Suarez special, and feels as though the team at Konami are running out of ideas on how to freshen the modes up. Master League returns and sees improvements at least, albeit minor. Still, taking a team of nobodies and making your way up the divisions is great and continues to be the best single player mode in any sport game I have played.

A full experience is applied to the handful-or-so limited modifications of PES 2021. There’s a greater spectrum of shots and saves, and wing action allows a return to moving the ball with a buff. In reality, while dribble drive has only been tweaked marginally, it makes a significant difference. Talented athletes on the wings and in close spaces will create chaos. Direct, quick passing countering attacks are still awarded, but the alternative is now more popular for long-ball football.

Simply put, eFootball PES 2021 Season Update is a great place to start if you’re new to the series or for fans of last years game who feel the price point is fair. It represents the purists take on football with a few additional tweaks required and potentially on the horizon. That could lead to it becoming tighter and more balanced, the least we deserve for our patience and understanding. Hopefully focusing on next-gen doesn’t mean we’re underserved on the update front. For the next year, players will need to find enough variety in the passages of play and the moments they create, as there’ll be little to no variety left elsewhere in the game. eFootball PES 2021 Season Update does exactly what it says it does. Some have argued that the cube drawing is a massive stretch on duskyxclops’ part, but some now think that it makes sense for the Cube to make a reappearance, claiming that each season throughout Chapter 2 matches up with the seasons from Chapter 1.

For example, both chapters’ Season 4 were themed around superheroes and both the current and previous Season 5 had something to do with worlds colliding. While the Cube did first appear in Chapter 1 Season 5, it played a very integral role in Season 6.

Kevin hasn’t been seen on the battle royale’s map since 2018, and there has been a ton of speculation about its return over the past few years. These theories get even more traction when the next season is just around the corner.

Each year, EA Sports invites football fans to vote for Team of the Year or TOTY. FIFA 21 is no exception to the rule and in a few hours you will be able to choose the players who will make up Team Of The Year. Find out how and when you can vote for your favorite players below.

Who can vote for the Team of the Year?
At FIFA 20, for the first time, everyone was allowed to vote for the Team of the Year on a website that was newly set up for the event. In previous years, this was reserved for athletes, media representatives and selected members of the FIFA community. This year the fans can vote again.

How to vote for the TOTY FIFA 21
Like last year, the voting process should be fairly straightforward. EA will likely create a temporary web page where you can vote for players.

What are TOTYs?
The TOTY, or the Team of the Year, is an annual selection of the best players of the past calendar year, which is released on FUT in early January. Until 2017, the FIFA TOTY corresponded to FIFA World XI, the team of the best players announced, also in January, by the international football federation. Since 2018, the year in which the FIFA World XI is announced in the summer, EA Sports has adopted a different format that has provided for the vote of some of the well-known faces of the community, such as Youtubers, streamers, former footballers and celebrities. In FIFA 20 the vote was instead extended to all users. The votes were then combined with those expressed directly by Electronic Arts to determine the list of 11 players who will be part of the Team of the Year. At the moment EA Sports has not provided details on how to vote for FIFA 21, only announcing that voting will start on Thursday 7 January.
